Incomunicado on Koh Chang

The last three days have been pretty good for fun, poor for work! I have all these responsibilities to take care of (proposals to write, blogs to check, my other site to keep up) and have been rather stuck doing things like watching sunsets, going to full moon parties, playing pool with ugly Cambodian girls and lying by the pool. I’m so stressed.
Seriously though, Koh Chang is pretty cool. Cooler than the place though has been the people, and this is the biggest reason why I’ve been so incomunicado lately. On the bus from Bangkok I met a Canadian couple, Damien and Kelsey, both from Winnipeg, and Pertu and Kathi (no idea on the spelling) from Finland.
Damien and Kelsey from Canada! Not the best picture, but here they are in their 200 baht/night room where they spent the first night. They moved into the hotel I was staying in the night following, and are currently there, holed up and recovering from a long night and day of Thai food pukage! Poor guys.Luckily we all got along pretty well and have spent a lot of time in restaurants, bars and exploring some of the island in the truck the Fins rented since we got here. As well, Marc, the German-American I met on the flight from Taiwan to Bangkok is down here in Bang Bao, a little fishing village on the far south coast of Koh Chang, where he’s spent a generous portion of his time showing me around, introducing me to his Thai friends and discussing the finer points of Buddhist philosophy. More on all of that later.
For now just be satisfied that I’ve posted again. I’ll head back to my cheap little hotel room to write some more tonight, that is if my power cable holds up. Twice now it’s sparked when I plugged it in and then wouldn’t work for about ten or fifteen minutes. Scares the living shit out of me cuz I don’t think Apple can send me a new power cable without having an address and here in Bang Bao there are no addresses.
