Tikolevu to takeover as acting FIRCA CEO
Wednesday August 29, 2007

Fiji Islands Customs and Revenue Authority national manager, Jitoko Tikolevu is expected to takeover as the new acting chief executive officer from September 6.

He will be taking over from the current acting CEO Pramod Achary who will go back to his previous position as general manager development services.

Board chairman, Filipe Bole confirmed the new acting appointment saying it is a rotation amongst a number of people until the CEO post is substantially filled.

Applications for the CEO's position closes on September 7. Tikolevu is one of the applicant's for the position.

Former CEO Tevita Banuve who was sent on special leave late July resigned early this month.

It is unclear whether he resigned voluntarily or was terminated.

Banuve had reportedly refused to co-operate with investigators from the Fiji Islands Commission Against Corruption who tried to access tax files for investigation.
