Jasmine Duxbury won the "Kaila" Star Quest

Teenager Jasmine Duxbury took out top honours at the "Kaila" Star Quest competition finals held at Albert Park in Suva this evening.

Duxbury who is the reigning Teen Princess was at her best and captivated the audience as well as the judges with her sweet voice.

Coming in at second place was Paulini Bautani who held her own and impressed all present.

Silivia Rasabasaba was equally impressive and deservedly came in at third place.

The Hibiscus Festival proper today and the "Kaila" competition was the first of many to come throughout the week.

Members of the public got a chance to meet the King and Queen contestants at the Mid-City Plaza in Suva earlier in the day.

Albert Park was abuzz mostly with school children from all around the country as it is now on to the second week of holidays.

In fact children have been enjoying since Wednesday when the ferris wheels and foodstalls were first put up.

Shops in the capital too have stuck to tradition where there are huge reductions on the price of their items.

Tomorrow, there will be a live band entertainment featuring Sekove Raikoro and Vodredrokadroka ni Loma ni Buca before a youth march, beginning from the Flea Market to Albert Park.
