Fiji's interim regime has brought in a number of lawyers from Hong Kong to help them in the constitutional case filed by ousted Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase against them.

Interim Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum confirmed that they have engaged overseas counsels who are helping State lawyers in the case, which will be heard in October.

Sayed-Khaiyum said that there are a number of lawyers but he refused to reveal anything further.

Qarase who has sought overseas counsel and senior members of his deposed multi-party Government are challenging the legality of the Immunity Decree granting Presidential pardon to the military for its overthrow of the Qarase government on December 5, 2006.
