Rain fails to disrupt Hibiscus spirit
Thursday August 16, 2007

Suva’s typical rainy weather has failed to dampen the spirits of children who continue to pour in at Albert Park to enjoy the 2007 Hibiscus Carnival.

With stalls set up and the smell of barbecue emitting from the ground, a lot has been planned for the week-long carnival which also coincides with the school break.

Tonight a special tribute will be paid to the late renowned musician Sakiusa Bulicokocoko by a group of local artists.

A church service is also organised where Vude King Seru Serevi, along with Ken Janson and Marika Gata will pay their tribute to mark the passing of one of Fiji's most gifted musicians.

The Fiji Broadcasting Corporation Ltd programme coordinator for tonight DJ Tora said the artists will not be singing but will be sharing their experiences when they played alongside late Bulicokocoko.

DJ Tora said after the tribute Bula FM and Radio Fiji Gold will be entertaining the crowd in keeping alive the Fijian night theme.
