Murder suspect in court today

A man charged with the murder of a jeweller in Nadi will appear before a special court sitting in the Nadi Court today.
Divisional police prosecutor Anil Prasad said the man would appear before Magistrate Syed Mukhtar Shah at 11am.
The man has been in police custody since being arrested on Thursday.
West police chief Emori Laqai said a man was in custody and the investigation into the murder of Kamlesh Nandha was continuing.
The production manager for Raniga Jewellers was stabbed outside his home while returning from a yaqona session on September 18
He was stabbed on his chest as he was opening the gates to his property.
Senior Superintendent Laqai said the police crime team from Namaka and Nadi were working on the case.
"About 20 officers from Nadi and Namaka have been working around the clock for the last 19 days,"he said.
SSP Laqai commended his men for ensuring justice prevailed.
"I thank all those officers for their hard work for the last 19 days,"he said.
The 42-year-old manager, who was employed by Raniga Jewellers for more than 20 years, died, while being taken to hospital by family and friends.
