Hibiscus contestants pose for a photo with their fans

Hundreds gathered to greet their 2007 Vodafone Hibiscus Kings and Queens at the Mid City Plaza in the heart of the capital Suva today.

Eight Vodafone Hibiscus Kings and Queens arrived at the Plaza and were greeted by Mr Mid City Plaza, Avinit Narayan.

The contestants shook hands with the people present there and were later given a tour of the Plaza, which is yet to be officially opened.

The chief operating officer/director at Courts Fiji Ltd, James Datta also arrived and wished the contestants well in their fight for the crown.

The carnival begins its programme proper with the final of the "Kaila" Star Quest beginning at 7pm.

Meanwhile Albert Park is a buzz of activity with both young and old enjoying the food and rides.

Tomorrow there will be a live band entertainment featuring Sekove Raikoro and Vodredrokadroka ni Loma ni Buca before a youth march, beginning from the Flea Market to Albert Park.
