Driver appears on kill charge

A 26-YEAR-old taxi driver is in custody after appearing in court on a murder charge yesterday.
He is alleged to have stabbed a mechanic to death in Suva on Tuesday.
No plea was taken when the accused, whose identity could not be obtained yesterday, appeared in the Nasinu court at Valelevu yesterday.
Valelevu station officer Manoj Singh said the accused's case was transferred to the High Court and he would reappear in court on October 26.
It is alleged the taxi driver stabbed the mechanic with a kitchen knife at Kinoya during an argument. They were been employees of the same company. The mechanic was rushed to hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The alleged killing took place at 6.30pm on Tuesday.
