China accepts Sir James as Fiji's diplomat

The interim regime's nomination of Sir James Ah Koy as the head of Fiji's Embassy to China has been accepted by the Chinese Government.

Sir James, a former politician and business tycoon told Fijilive that he was informed of his appointment on Wednesday.

"I will be leaving for China with the business delegation on August 29 and will come back mid September," he said.

"We will just come and pack my bags to leave for China again," he said.

Sir James replaces Colonel Jeremaia Waqanisau who was called back following the December 2006 military coup.

Military spokesman, Major Neumi Leweni who has been appointed the new counselor in China, leaves next week for his four year posting.
