The Blue Dome Hotel is a luxurious complex of thirty-nine apartments, recently built in front of the sea. The Hotel area is in contact with the sand beach along a distance of 52m. It is located at 100m from the center of the village of Platanias and at 11km west of the city of Chania.
 It is an ideal hotel for families; offering a comfortable and noiseless relaxation for adults and a safe playing area for children. No vehicles can pass through it or between the hotel and the sea. Super-markets, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, banks, gift-shops, etc. are at five to ten minutes walk, away from the Hotel.
 

The Hotel consists of 14 one-room apartments, 24 two-room apartments and 1 three-room suite. An open-air restaurant and a pool-bar, an indoor restaurant and a bar, a coffee-shop and a room service, a large swimming pool with free umbrellas and sun-chairs are all available every day and evening. . A smaller and shallow swimming pool, an indoor playroom and an open air playground are provided gratis for children.
In the Prefecture of Chania, using public buses or a rented car, you can visit beautiful and impressive places, like Gramvoussa, Falasarna, Elafonissi, the famous Canyon of Samaria, etc.
Heraklio with its famous Museum and the Minoan Palace of Knossos can be reached by car or bus in 2.5 hours.
The mild Mediterranean climate, the blue sea, the sandy beaches, the olive oil diet and the Cretan dishes as well as the local people, customs, products and dances will make your stay in Crete relaxing, pleasant and unforgettable.
 
Two swimming pools, one large for adults and one small for children are available. The surface area of the adult pool is more than 300 m2 and the water is 1.50m deep everywhere. The children's pool is 0.50m deep and its border is at a distance of at least 2.40m from the border of the large one.

The pools and the area around them are cleaned and tidied daily. The chlorine and PH of the water are daily measured and adjusted to the proper values. 

Both pools are open from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

The swimming pools with the sun-chairs and the umbrellas around them are free of charge (gratis).

On the sandy-beach, in front of the sea, you can rent umbrellas and sun-chairs for the whole day.

A pool bar near the swimming pools and an indoor bar at the Reception are available. Alcoholic drinks (a large variety of cocktails and many kinds of beer and wine), refreshments, ice creams, coffees, teas and other beverages are served from 9:00 AM to 2:00 AM, daily.

Young and kind professionals are running the Restaurants and the Bars. Daily, they offer tasty and healthy food mainly of Cretan cuisine as well as foreign dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. All dishes are based on olive oil and locally produced fresh vegetables. Any drinks and beverages are available at the Restaurants and the Bars or at your apartment.

A special entertainment event is organized almost every day or evening.
I.e. once per week, in the "Greek evening", you can enjoy Cretan and other Greek live music and dances. They are performed by young men and young ladies in local costumes. You are encouraged to dance with them.

The Hotel consists of 39 apartments. Each room of every apartment is equipped with a separate air-conditioner. The unit of each bedroom is an "inverter" (noiseless air conditioner). Luxurious furniture and double curtains, a satellite TV, 3-channel music, a telephone, a safety-box, a kitchenette with all necessary utensils, a refrigerator and two electric plates for cooking as well as a marble bathroom and a large veranda, looking at the sea and the garden, exist in every apartment.

All apartments as well as the common areas, corridors, staircases, etc. are daily cleaned.

Upon arrival of new guests, a bottle of mineral water in the refrigerator and a bottle of red wine on the table are offered gratis, as a welcome gift.


The owner, Dr. Basil Proimos is an Emeritus Professor of Medicine, and a retired engineer and medical physicist. He speaks Greek and English fluently. His command of French and Spanish is also good.

The manager, Dr. Claudia Danciu holds a Doctorate in Medical Physics. She speaks the English, the Romanian and the Greek languages very well. Also, her knowledge of French is good.

They are living in the hotel and they are available to their guests practically all the time for any problem.
