Originally, Sidari used to be a small fishing village with a small population. In the 1970s and 1980s became very popular and it was transformed to a small town with bar, restaurants hotels and apartments. It has an ideal location with long sandy beaches and shallow waters which makes it very safe especial for children and older people.
One of Sidari's most famous land marks are the unusual cliff formations known as canal d amour (channel of love). The legend says that if a couple swims together in its water they will be together forever.
