The surfing season in Bali continues with its highs and lows. Right now the swell is average, slackening off over the next few days and looking good for Sunday & Monday. MagicSeaweed is a pretty good site for the raw data, with easy to read charts.
As BaliWaves informs us, the best places to surf today would of been Uluwatu and Padang Padang, with a 5-8ft wave height in Legian bay. Today Uluwatu was getting an 11 mph wind and the beach breaks of Kuta / Legian / Seminyak were even more windy. At Kuta Halfway, the beach itself is halfway onto the road, the sidewalk covered in about 6 inches of sand.
People hoping to learn to surf in Bali should take surfing lessons from a reputable surf school, such as Bali Learn To Surf, at Hard Rock Hotel, Rip Curl at Blue Ocean beach, or Palu on Poppies Lane II.
