This time the tour was a round trip to the island started from ubud area and then we when to visit the eastern part of Bali candidasa and stay a night there at Alila Manggis near candidasa. The first trip in candidasa was visiting the traditional tenganan village used to be a hidden village and closed for any contact with outside world. We went to visit the traditional way of garment making. The coloring agents used for their cloth are made of wood extract and measure in traditional way. We spent 1 and half hours in the location only, since that was a Bali round trip they spend as much time as they like in every stop and enjoy the nature and culture more than regular tour package, therefore they get to know more about things in the location. The decided to have an early lunch around candidasa, I suggested them to try the lunch at rama candidasa restaurant, which is a nice place have lunch with a great ocean view in the east of Bali. I also suggested by a friend of mind who ever tried lunch there and they the food was good and because they have a new chef with a new menu and better presentation. Then we continued the trip passing through the east coast to enter the north Bali and made a stop at tirtha gangga the ancient king of karangasem bathing place. We also stop at singaraja city, used to be the capital of Bali in the colonial era. The next day we went to menjangan island the place where they requested to visit for them to dive there. The visit to Menjangan Island was not on the itinerary and they requested it and stay another in Bali. It has been quite sometimes I’ve never gone to menjangan island since the slower season in Bali in couple years, and nice view all the way to menjangan island and at pemuteran made our trip was one of the great time to remember and we saw green every where. Ten minutes by boat also a great trip and they spend 4 hours there diving. A nice views all the way leaving Menjangan Island and passing through the West Bali National Park. One of them requested to stop but the others said no, and we continued the trip down the southern part Bali. During the trip they were talking about the next visit to Bali will spend some times to enter the west park and stay longer in Bali. We were supposed to go back to the hotel and for them to rest after all day out and I started to talk about tanah lot temple to them, a nice place to see sunset and the temple protrude right on the beach and has been standing there for many centuries. All of them said, we have to see that place. I took them to visit tanah lot temple and escorted them to see the wave beaten rock and the best spot to see sunset. They really appreciated the hour extra I spent with them to see the most beautiful sunset they have ever seen in life and they kept on talking about the temple. I took them to hotel in Kuta and they checked in at the hotel. They spent all morning and day on the beach the next day before I picked them up and transferred them to the airport. Read more…
Schools and offices will make some preparation for it, what will they do? Students will start to clean the school area and watering all gardens and make them look nice and start to decorate the school. Same thing will do by the office’s employee to make their lovely office look good. Teachers make some event for all students to be done to celebrate this Saraswati Day, the event normally related to writing reading and speech in our traditional language. This is one of the ways to preserve our culture. The time when the knowledge bestowed to all the human being is celebrated on the Saraswati Day for all Hindu, especially in Bali. On the Saraswati Day after all the ritual have been done in all schools and offices, Hindu in Bali will go to visit “Guru” the one who teach the Hindu religion or in another Guru is a master in spiritual life. A priest is also Guru and visited by many people from noon up to late at night depending how many people have been receiving his teaching and mad up their life. A visit is to remember the teaching and refresh it again and also to keep a good relation between both of them in order their life is always protected from any bad impact because of his wisdom. Saraswati Day is the day to thank to God for all blesses has been blessing directly through our inner feeling even though sometimes we don’t realize it or through another wiser person, which is our Guru and transferred to us through his teaching that for sure will make our life better. Knowledge is the most important part of our life and the highest blesses from God, therefore Hindu celebrate Saraswati day that is the time we have to really thank to God. The way to realize this grateful feeling is by doing the ritual at every compound and pray on that day and wish a better life will be in our future. "Tumpek Landep" day, devoted to "Sang Hyang Pasupati" the Lord of all metal implements, when blessing ceremony is given to heirlooms, weapon and the other metal tools (including car), for magical power and proper function, held at every family-compound (especially smith's) and garage. Now day tumpek landep is celebrated in each house in majority to give the blessing from the ceremony to vehicles, because those are most important metal instrument in our life that support all activities because life to day demand a faster move compare than in the past. They got their car washed and decorated with young coconut leave and ready to be blessed in order it function properly, this ceremony is done almost in every compound of family house through out the island and repeated every 210 day. Tumpek landep is celebrated as a temple ceremony anniversary in compound house by the smith as every different casts (social group in Bali) has their own compound temple anniversary, because they used to be the only social group that produce all kind of metal instruments. This cast will do a big ceremony at their temple followed by a ritual in their warehouse, because that is the place for them to produce all the instruments. The day after tumpek landep is Odalan Sang Hyang Guru, the day devoted to Sang Hyang Ciwa Guru the God Power in Protecting all human being in doing their life and believed by all Hindu in Bali the power who always showing us a better way in life or in another word It is a light of God to show us a better way. The shrine for Sang Hyang Ciwa Guru is always in the compound temple as the main temple.
